This blog is designed for an outlet to write about my favorite Southeast Louisiana topics – history, culture/life, and education (although not limited to these topics).  The New Orleans area, my home, is at the forefront in terms of education reform.  It is rich with historical content and contains a vibrant culture and lifestyle unfounded elsewhere in the states.  As a young Louisiana history teacher and localite who studied history during undergrad and education in graduate school, these topics are significant and relevant to me.  They seem to constantly occupy my thoughts, which is why I decided to share them.  Enjoy!

Do you have any articles and pictures of the east bank of plaquemines parish? I’m very interested in the history of this area. Thanks

I have not written much, if any, on Plaquemines Parish yet. I certainly want to – especially the story of Fort Jackson during the Civil War. I do have some photos of Plaquemines in the 30s since two photographers visited the area. Anything in particular you’d like to see, or should I compile another list and post it?
